Overview
A factory reset erases all customizations and returns the router to its original out-of-box state. This is a last resort for fixing persistent connection issues or when you have forgotten the admin password.
Before You Reset
A factory reset will erase:
- Your custom Wi-Fi name and password
- Your router admin password
- Any port forwarding or firewall rules
- All other custom settings
How to Perform a Factory Reset
- 1Ensure the router is powered on.
- 2Locate the RESET button — it is usually a small recessed hole at the back, labeled 'Reset'.
- 3Use a straightened paper clip or thin pin to press and hold the RESET button.
- 4Hold for 10–15 seconds until the router's indicator lights flash or change pattern.
- 5Release the button and wait 2–3 minutes for the router to reboot.
- 6Connect to the default Wi-Fi network (printed on the router label).
- 7Reconfigure your router settings as described in the Router Setup guide.
After the Reset
Once reset, your router will broadcast its default SSID (Wi-Fi name) and password as printed on the label. Connect to it and follow the first-time setup guide to get back online.
