Overview

Connecting to Wi-Fi but having no internet access is one of the most common support issues. It can be caused by the router, the ONT, the cable, or occasionally Triangle's network. Follow this guide to identify and fix the cause.

Step 1 — Restart Everything (Correct Sequence)

  1. 1Unplug your router's power cable.
  2. 2Unplug your ONT's power cable.
  3. 3Wait 30 seconds.
  4. 4Plug in the ONT first and wait 60 seconds for lights to stabilize.
  5. 5Plug in the router and wait 60 seconds.
  6. 6Try connecting again.
💡
Always restart the ONT first, then the router. Reversing this order often doesn't restore the connection properly.

Step 2 — Check ONT Indicator Lights

Look at the ONT (the box installed by Triangle):

  • All lights green → ONT is fine, issue is the router or beyond
  • PON light red or off → fiber signal issue — contact Triangle support
  • LOS (Loss of Signal) light on → fiber line fault — contact Triangle support immediately
  • Internet/LAN light off → check ethernet cable between ONT and router

Step 3 — Test with Ethernet Direct

Unplug the ethernet cable from your router's WAN port and plug it directly into your laptop or PC. If you get internet access this way, the issue is your router (not Triangle's network).

Direct ethernet to your laptop = internet? Your router needs to be factory reset and reconfigured.

Step 4 — Contact Triangle Support

If the ONT shows a fault light, or if direct ethernet also has no internet, the issue is on Triangle's side. Call us at 09666-770444 with your account number ready. Our NOC team can diagnose the issue remotely and dispatch a technician if needed.
