Overview
The Triangle Speed Test at /speedtest measures your real-world internet performance including download speed, upload speed, ping (latency), jitter, and packet loss. For an accurate reading, follow the preparation steps in this guide.
Before You Run the Test
- 1Connect your device via Ethernet cable (not Wi-Fi) for the most accurate result.
- 2Close all other browser tabs and applications.
- 3Pause any cloud sync (Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox).
- 4Ask others in the house to pause streaming or large downloads.
- 5Disable VPN if active â VPNs artificially slow test results.
đĄ
Run the test at least 3 times and average the results. A single test can be affected by server load.
Understanding the Results
- Download speed â how fast data arrives to your device (affects streaming, browsing)
- Upload speed â how fast data leaves your device (affects calls, cloud backups)
- Ping â round-trip delay in milliseconds; under 20ms is excellent
- Jitter â variation in ping; under 5ms is excellent
- Packet loss â lost data packets; 0% is perfect
